MAINTENANCE MANAGER

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Oversee and manage the plant maintenance, machine maintenance, and preventative maintenance program utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system. Track adherence to and effectiveness of the maintenance system and make Improvements to remove any inefficiencies or cost deterrents. Use the data within the CMMS to develop and justify cost saving opportunities and improve equipment performance. Identify, source and work with outside vendors. Comply with Environmental / Safety Equipment / facility requirements and regulations. Develop and drive Continuous Improvement projects (TPI3) to bolster the maintenance system and personnel. Lead, motivate, mentor and direct activities of maintenance staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.

Manage the record keeping with in the CMMS system for all service and maintenance performed on the machinery.
Coordinates with production on the job setups and scheduling of down times for repair and maintenance of equipment.
Establish and maintain an effective parts system.
Manage the Installation, preventive maintenance and repair of production, facility, and support equipment.
Build and manager key metrics around but not limited to mean time between failures, wrench time, labor efficiency and PM effectiveness.
Provide hands on leadership and team support when needed.
Insure the regular and preventative maintenance on production and support equipment is performed in a timely and effective manner.
Develop quality of work audits to Insure work performed meets COMAR expectations of quality.
Give guidance and direction to the team when needed.
Ensure Maintenance team is properly trained on their job duties and proper use of the CMMS system.

Staff Management & Development

Engage, train, motivate and develop progression plans for the maintenance team.

Supervise and give guidance to the hourly employees in the Maintenance Department.

Interview, hire, and train new hires.

Plan, assign, and direct work.

Appraise performance, reward and discipline employees.

Address complaints and resolve problems, escalating issues as appropriate.

Vendor management

Manage and control costs for vendor services.

Verify vendor services performed per COMAR standards.

Ensure vendors are trained comply with COMAR's Safety requirements while on company premises.

Manage vendor activities.

EHS Compliance

Ensures that all environmental / facility permits and reports are up to date.

Ensures that various facility and equipment inspections are performed as well as basic facility maintenance.

Ensure all safety equipment and deterrence's are present and operational.

Ensure all maintenance adheres to LOTO.

Verify training on an annual basis.

Continuous Improvement

Promote cleanliness and safety policies and procedures throughout the entire company utilizing tools such as lean manufacturing, 5S and Six Sigma.

Investigates and diagnoses root causes of breakdowns and develops programs and solutions to reduce or eliminate future occurrences.

Investigate equipment, plant and system inefficiencies and using TPI3 develop course of action.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Four-year college or university program degree preferred.

Minimum four years of experience in maintenance management.

Experience in a plastics manufacturing facility is a plus.

CMRP certification (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) is a plus

KNOWLEDGE - SKILLS - ABILITIES

Strong engineering knowledge including basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, and schematics.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook.

Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize tasks / projects based on business needs.

Ability to be an effective leader.

Must be self-motivated and focused on process improvement.

Physical- Environmental Conditions

Frequently : Handle Objects, Sit, Stand, Walk, exposed to excessive noise, work around moving machinery.

Regularly : Bend, Climb, Kneel, Use fine finger movements, work in confined quarters.

Occasionally : Squat, Crawl, Reach above shoulder level, Push / Pull, Carry / Lift loads up to 25 lbs., exposed to marked changes in temperature and / or humidity, work in a office with regulated heat / air conditioning, low noise level.

Mental Conditions : Frequently : read, comprehend, communicate orally, reason and analyze, write, perform calculations, make visual distinctions.

F = Frequently (51% or more of the time).

R = Regularly (16 - 50% of the time).

O = Occasionally (2 - 15% of the time).
