What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator - Night Shift position at Comarco Products Inc.?
NIGHT SHIFT, 6PM - 6AM, MONDAY - THURSDAY, OCCASIONAL FRIDAY
This position is responsible for the operation of the Matrix machine.
Which includes ensuring materials meet both visual and quality criteria, along with maximizing machine uptime and yields. Perform Matrix changeovers, troubleshoot problems and assist with other lines if needed. Know daily production standards and work to meet or exceed these standards daily. Ensure quality products are being produced by monitoring weights, seals, batch numbers, print clarity, and seal cut and by performing quality checks. Assist the production lead and manager as requested. Ensure batch sheets and all paperwork are accurately, neatly, and filled out. Be able to set up and troubleshoot issues that arise with gears, belts, conveyors, counting conveyors, and other auxiliary equipment associated with the Matrix line area.
Job Duties:
· Effectively & efficiently set-up the machines per established parameters (recipes/speed matrix) and other machine settings per specifications and guidelines during start-up, changeover, and shutdown operations
· Make necessary adjustments to maintain and ensure both physical and cosmetic performance of treated materials per established criteria.
· Maintain maximum machine uptime and product yields.
· Ensures the correct raw materials are used per Work Order
· Conduct and document all product test required by product specification including treated weight, scale flow, minimum viscosity/flow window, making sure bags seal properly, etc.
· Works in conjunction with Quality Assurance to ensure the materials produced conform to internal and industry quality criteria and specifications.
· Effectively communicates with Line Lead and/or Maintenance when equipment problems arise that are out of operator’s ability to troubleshoot or fix.
· Follow all safety regulations, food regulations and GMPs.
· Effectively communicates with Quality Assurance to address any quality issues with the produced product or raw materials.
· Record all downtime and stoppage and all necessary paperwork.
· Assist in Preventive Maintenance as assigned.
· Cross train in other areas
· Ability to work in a physical environment with exposures to chemicals, noise, dust, and lifting 50lbs.
· Assist other operators to ensure timely packaging of product.
· Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas including equipment, tools, and work surfaces.
· All employees will be required to participate in training and continuous improvement events.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
