JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving incoming shipments and preparing materials, tooling, parts and supplies for shipment. Person is to package and wrap a variety of aircraft part orders damage-free for distribution, using proficient knowledge and skills to meet customers' expectations. This position reports directly to the SCM Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Packing -Properly stack and pack aircraft parts into bins and onto pallets, verify and close the load.
- Preparing Product - Create manifest for shipping.
- Counts items received or shipped and checks against packing lists, recording discrepancies.
- Equipment - Upon training and certification: operate materials handling equipment, to include, but not limited to: forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Safety - Observe all safety procedures, regulations, rules and instruction in performance of job duties.
- Load and unload product as assigned.
- Enter part information into inventory database.
- Coordinate with Program Manager/Planners shipping instructions.
- Verify tags for part/ serial numbers.
- Enter part/serial numbers into tear down program.
- Re1nove parts tag for creating 1nanifest and package materials in crates, pallets or boxes for shipping.
- Utilize part tags for creating manifest for shipping and place a copy of the manifest in with the parts.
- If the customer requests inspection prior to shipping, notify inspection.
- Escort carriers to shipping site and load items on truck for shipment.
- Equipment - Upon training and certification: operate materials handling equipment, to include, but not limited to: forklifts and pallet jacks;
- Safety - Observe all safety procedures, regulations, rules and instruction in performance of job duties.
- Record time to billable job cards as appropriate.
- Must know international shipping/Dangerous goods shipping.
- And other duties as assigned
