Farsi Operational Language Analyst IV (OLA4)

Job Description:

The candidate will utilize both their linguistic and analytical skills for mission driven roles. The candidate will translate and/or transcribe complex and sophisticated mission derived materials from Farsi to Standard American English, including, but not limited to: high-level technical subject matters with a requirement for precision within the translation of material and interpretation of written and/or spoken material. Develop and implement translation methodology and quality control procedures and standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Good understanding of one or more regional dialects
• Core functions of translation, transcription, and interpretation are key.
• Can accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances.
• Can generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in use. Word choice and expression generally adhere to target language norms and means of expression specific to subject field(s) and are strong enough to allow the candidate to operate successively in that field.
• Responsible for development and review of finished work.
• Ability to consistently deliver high-quality and accurate work with a strong work ethic.
• Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI Clearance and Full Scope Polygraph
• 15 yrs full-time experience or 19 without a degree
• Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of work experience
• ILR Skill Level 3 in BOTH Audio and Graphic Farsi
  
• 15 years of performing crypto language processing, related language, and/or crypto experience.
  
  • 8 of 15 years in crypto language processing
    
• 8 of 15 years must be in the required language(s)
  • 6 of 8 years performing crypto language processing
  • 5 of 8 years simply translating, transcribing, and gisting
  • 3 years experience QC'ing BOTH audio and graphic at the ILR level 3 in target language
• No more than 7 of 15 years reporting as a primary duty
• 1 of 8 years experience has to be within 6 years of resume submission
