Summary: To perform electrical assembly and wiring of electronic and robotic control systems for custom packaging equipment following Electrical Engineer designs and schematics.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Ability to read and understand established wiring charts, blueprints, schematics, layouts, symbols, and bill of materials.
2. Have a passion for wiring custom panels per electrical drawings accurately and in a neat and organized manner.
3. Accurately assemble electrical components into control panel for equipment.
4. Perform complex wiring and assembly operations on standardized electric units and sub- assemblies.
5. Ability to compose material lists for required conduit, fittings, cord grips, etc.
6. Professionally work together in partnership with engineering to troubleshoot design issues during layout of panel and wiring, listening, and asking questions to confirm understanding of resolution for all involved.
7. Have familiarity with Allen Bradley VFD, PLC, Servo Drives and various electrical components.
8. Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
9. Collaborate with a team as well as minimum supervision to meet manufacturing schedule and willingness to lend a hand to anyone needing assistance.
10. Complete proper documentation on build production and communicate any changes or discrepancies.
11. Strive to exceed goals for yourself and team members by continuously improving on processes, tools used, or approaches to constantly help tailor quality equipment for our customers.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
The employee frequently works with wiring and cabling. The work environment temperatures may fluctuate from hot to cold depending on the season. Depending on customer schedules, the department may prove to be at a very fast-paced and stressful level. The noise level is moderate.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand while wiring the machine. The employee will be expected to use their hands to handle parts and tools and to climb and/or balance. The employee may need to walk to other Assembly Bays, reach with arms, bend, crouch, sit on the floor, kneel, climb, talk, and hear.
The employee will often lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will need vision to see close, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime work when required by customer schedules.
Skills:
1. Basic understanding of electrical skills. Have the desire to learn from others or classes to further reach your potential.
2. Strong mathematical aptitude and skills for accurately utilizing pneumatic tools.
3. High attention to detail is a must to accurately and safely complete wiring components.
4. Excellent written, verbal and reading skills to accurately read directions and to professionally verbalize discrepancies and ask for assistance.
5. Well organized with the ability to manage time for completing wiring components by the deadline or surpassing the deadline.
6. Enthusiastically starts projects and willing to lend a hand to any team member when assistance is needed.
7. Basic computer skills are needed, working with MS applications.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
1–2 years mechanical/electrical assembly experience preferred
