Job Description:
Our Chemical Engineering Research & Development (CERD) Automation Engineering team is seeking a contract Senior Specialist to help manage changes to our plant floor Automation systems and where required, our ITOT Infrastructure. This position will work closely to partner with Automation engineering project teams and liaise with various IT departments including MMD, R&D, Cyber security, etc. As an ITOT Specialist, you will gather IT pipeline projects the definition and implementation of high-level requirements around OT infrastructure that impact automation project teams to assist in implementing these. Your infrastructure experience in reviewing plant automation and system integrations will contribute to maintaining platforms, and building new platforms, enhancing existing ones for expansion, efficiency and productivity across drug discovery modalities. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary organizations in our Research and Development division and IT, including scientists, engineers, IT architects, infrastructure, and quality.
Job Description
- Commit to building relationships with R&D IT business partners to understand planned infrastructure optimization projects.
- Experience in building and maintaining OT infrastructure for GMP manufacturing processes, secure networks compliant with ISA/IEC 62443 standards.
- Be the SME for our Shop Floor Network (Manufacturing division Core eventually migrated to Restricted LFN) firewall rules. Be the point person for changes to these rules, and evaluation of impact to automation systems with IT driven firewall rule changes.
- Assist automation JIRA tracking of project deliverables, timelines and to help deliver value-added enhancements.
- Manage obsolescence risks for our automation technology platforms and infrastructure wherever possible.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and translate business needs into actionable requirements into JIRA or other task management tools.
- Align solutions with enterprise and solution architecture standards (including Cyber security).
- Possess strong background in both technical and functional support. Can learn new concepts quickly and work independently with minimal oversight and collaborate with large groups while supporting applications and systems as well as facilitating meetings related to ServiceNow incidents.
- Communicate IT related change initiatives related to Automation and the IT/OT landscape
- Collaborate with instrument vendors and suppliers to evaluate and implement new plant automation and manufacturing technologies.
- Ensure timely IT support in the joint investigation, diagnostics, and resolutions with our Research & Development Division engineers and interface with site and global functions such as infrastructure, engineering, system security, risk management, etc.
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor s degree in automation, engineering, computer science, or computer engineering related degree.
- Master s degree is preferred.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 2 years of experience on upstream manufacturing systems (DeltaV) including troubleshooting, code improvements, integration of instruments, upgrades, networking, management of the virtualization system and servers, and increasing systems that send data to an enterprise system (PI).
- 3 years hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: Rockwell PLC s and HMI s, DeltaV, OT cybersecurity, OT data architecture.
- 4 years in-depth knowledge of Windows Hyper-V, VMware workstation, Delta-V, Pi, Pi Historian, SCADA computer system backup and archival, data retention
- 4 years experience with networking, switches, vlans, subnets, firewalls, Windows active directory in virtual and physical environments.
- Experience dealing with manufacturing software/hardware (MES, SAP, ASRS, Compounding Workstations, Automated Dosing Machines, HMIs, PLCs and various network equipment).
- Experienced problem solver/troubleshooter, skilled in root cause analysis.
- Multi-tasker with ability to manage multiple IT and automation projects.
- Experienced with project tracking tools (JIRA, Confluence, Power Projects).
- Able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Good understanding of all phases of SDLC (to enable rapid adoption of company SDLC processes, and OneCQV industry trends).
