Combined Energy Services is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Human Resources Specialist to play a crucial role in our hiring and onboarding processes. This individual will be responsible for the entire hiring process from sourcing and screening candidates to conducting interviews or coordinating with specific supervisors, extending offers, and ensuring a smooth and engaging onboarding experience for all new hires. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of HR best practices, and a passion for building a high-performing and positive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Selection:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Source qualified candidates through various channels, including online job boards, social media, professional networks, job fairs and employee referrals.
- Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates.
- Conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidate qualifications.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring teams.
- Conduct interviews and evaluate candidate skills and experience through thorough questioning and assessment.
- Manage the candidate communication process, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all applicants.
- Conduct background checks and reference checks in compliance with company policy and legal requirements where applicable.
- Prepare and extend job offers, negotiate terms as necessary, and ensure all offer documentation is complete.
- Onboarding:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding program to ensure a positive and engaging experience for new hires.
- Prepare and organize all necessary onboarding materials and documentation.
- Conduct new hire orientation sessions, covering company policies, procedures, benefits, and culture.
- Coordinate with various departments (IT, dispatch, sales, etc.) to ensure new hires have the necessary resources and access.
- Facilitate introductions to team members.
- Assist new hires with completing required paperwork.
- Serve as a point of contact for new hires, addressing their questions and concerns during the initial transition period.
- Gather feedback from new hires and hiring managers to continuously improve the onboarding process.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to new hire documentation and processes.
- General HR Support:
- Stay up-to-date on HR best practices, employment laws, and industry trends.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with other HR-related tasks and projects as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Human Resources with a strong focus on recruitment and onboarding.
- Proven experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle.
- Strong interviewing skills with the ability to assess candidate qualifications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license and able to drive to our branch locations to conduct interviews and to handle on-boarding tasks
