What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Machine Operator position at Combined Metals Company LLC?
2nd Shift: 1PM-10PM
- Setup the production equipment and supplies before executing the job orders.
- Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
- Operate machinery, loading coils, removing scrap and paper waste, and removing finished coils.
- Inspect equipment to identify any replacements, malfunctions, and repairs.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Basic math skills
- Edging experience is in a plus
- Machine operators will operate in a specific area in the slitting department.
- Machine operators need to set up, run, teardown, and trouble shoot the slitter oscillators.
- Ensures product produced meets quality standards by conducting QC testing, documenting results and correcting process or material issues when defects are identified. Visually inspects for excess wave and snake. If excessive, must notify the Supervisor.
- Accurately loads material and meticulously monitors machine’s process and finished product.
