What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pack/Skid Shop Operator -2nd Shift position at Combined Metals Company LLC?

Responsibilities:
- Responsible always for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. Always support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare metal coils by loading skids and packaging according to customer orders.
- Assist manufacturing with preparing and inspecting bulk products. Reporting and removing defects as needed (i.e. deformed, discolored, misshaped, etc.)
- Working quickly and effectively to move products from processing to shipping.
- Visually inspect the strip for proper quality.
- Proper communication protocol with all manufacturing, quality, and other operations staff to communicate and escalate product or equipment issues as needed.
- Equipment operation to include, but not limited to heavy machinery and forklift, along with general tools such as wrenches, tape measure, and hammers.
- Participate in training and certification programs as needed.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment by removing scrap and other waste, checking machines, and identifying potential hazards.
- Train new operators, if necessary.
- Properly use a micrometer.
- Cut samples for quality control.
- Assist supervisor/manager and other operators as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass the company mechanical test.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Sufficient ability to maintain records and reports.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Understanding of production procedures.
- Analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear).
