Job Summary
Primarily responsible for managing technical accounting matters, conducting accounting risk assessments and monitoring internal controls for assigned accounting areas for the Comcast enterprise. Involves developing an expertise in GAAP for assigned areas, as well as an understanding of accounting policies, risks, controls, processes, systems and areas of judgement for the Comcast enterprise.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Manage technical accounting matters and partner with Comcast business units on the development and application of accounting policies and implementation of internal controls.
- Perform technical accounting research and document conclusions for complex accounting matters.
- Perform accounting risk assessments to identify and evaluate risks and internal controls.
- Monitor internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure controls are operating effectively.
- Identify and communicate control findings to management and executive leadership.
- Research new and proposed accounting standards and monitor changes in the business environment and emerging risks.
- Provide training to others on new accounting standards and technical accounting topics.
- Participate in close-related accounting reviews and analyses.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
