What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician position at Comcentric Inc.?
We are seeking a Field Technician for a 3-month contract-to-hire position near Jefferson City, MO or Columbia, MO. The Field Technician will be performing basic tasks and projects related to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment and circuits under regular supervision. The role involves preventative and demand maintenance of network systems and critical infrastructure, asset management, and supporting the overall integrity of the company's network operations. The technician will become familiar with the company's systems and applications while ensuring smooth network performance and quick restoration during service interruptions.
Pay rate: $21/hour, on W2 non negotiable
Ideal Candidate would have:
- Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET)
- Switching (circuit-switching/SS7)
- TCP/IP (routers, higher-layer protocols)
- Outside Plant (Fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing)
- DS0 through OC192 services
- 1 year of relevant job experience.
- GED/High School Diploma
- Electronics or Telecommunications
The Field Technician is responsible for a 100 mile radius and will use their own vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed at the GSA rate.
