COMCO is hiring EXPERIENCED ONLY Cable Technician’s in Tampa, St. Petersburg, FL area. ACCEPTING LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. The Cable Technician will be responsible for performing the installation of network cabling. Technician will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. Employees must keep abreast of industry trends and developments.

Typical duties include:

• Installing, labeling, and testing premise cabling, connections, patch panels, equipment enclosures/cabinets, cable tray, Protective Distribution System (PDS) conduit, and associated hardware according to standards. Reading and understanding system installation drawings and design packages.
• Testing fiber-optic and copper cabling systems.
• Installing communications pathways including but not limited to conduit, cable runway and support hooks.
• Fusion splicing fiber optic cable.

Education Level
None

Years of Experience
MUST BE EXPERIENCED with the installation of copper and fiber-optic cables.

• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Must have experience using basic construction tools such as drill, ladders, shovels, etc.

Work Environment

• Work assignments vary based on job site requirements.

Schedule

• Work hours vary based on the job and the customer requirements and it is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
• Position may require night and weekend work.

Physical Requirements

• Job requires working from ladders, and Lift equipment.
• The employee will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Equipment and Machines

• The Employee will need a general understanding of: hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts and test equipment.

Travel

• Travel requirements will vary.
• Valid Driver's License are required to operate company vehicles.

Pay and Benefits

• Hourly, up to $23.00/hr
