Who we are looking for:
The Safety Claims Specialist will support the investigation of workplace accidents and incidents, assess risk and ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies while also handling insurance claims. They will coordinate with adjusters, other insurance agents and the company’s Safety Director. The Safety Claims Specialist will also assist the Safety Manager with regular on-site project and facility visits.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage workers compensation and vehicle insurance claims.
- Gather information, assess the validity of claims and determine the appropriate course of action.
- Ensure claims are submitted promptly, efficiently and are monitored through closure.
- Serve as a liaison to coordinate communications with adjusters and internal risk leaders.
- Ensure claims are handled in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all reported claims, including documents, correspondence and reports.
- Analyze claim data to identify trends and patterns.
- Provide safety and claims education, feedback, and support to operations and other support functions.
- Assist the Safety Manager with regular on-site project and facility presence.
- Stay up to date on safety regulations and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in claims management preferred.
- 1 year experience in a safety role preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and standards.
- Excellent research and communication skills.
- Able to handle complex claims.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize while handling heavy workload.
- Some travel throughout the company’s organizational footprint.
- Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
