Accounts Payable Tax Analyst SR
The AP Sales & Use Tax Analyst SR is responsible for all aspects of the Sales and Use Tax process, including process improvement related to identification and remittance of Sales & Use Taxes. Position will be responsible for understanding and applying Sales & Use Tax requirements for numerous states in which Comerica operates, implementing and carrying out procedures designed to improve Comerica’s degree of compliance with such laws.
Position Responsibilities
Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
Hours
8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. This position offers a hybrid work model that includes onsite and remote days as determined by the manager.

Position Responsibilities
- Preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax filings & returns for multiple state and local jurisdictions to ensure timely and compliant filings. Processing of payments to ensure timely payment of amounts due.
- Research sales and use tax issues and provide guidance based on such research (company subject matter expert), including Ariba tax reconciliations. Work with procurement to maintain proper tax rates within Ariba. Review Active Pay invoices to ensure proper tax is remitted if needed. Document research outcomes and implement methodologies for assessing sales and use tax.
- Assist with sales and use tax audits and questions from Comerica business units. Work with legal department to ensure registration for sales and use tax is completed for each jurisdiction that is needed.
- Assist with other tax department duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Accounting or related four-year degree or equivalent accounting experience
- 5 years of Sales and use tax experience including sales and use tax audit experience
- Successful completion of sales and use tax training preferred
