Tax Specialist
The Tax Specialist role will be responsible for day to day activities associated with one or more tax accounting activities within the Compliance, Reporting and Provisioning teams. This includes preparation of all returns and participation in audit activities. During quarter and year-end close, the analyst will assist as needed and provide necessary information required to record accurate tax provision. Additional responsibilities may include assistance with Corporate Tax administration, CCAR/DFAST calculations and other tasks as needed.
Position Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the federal consolidated 1120 return along with various state and local returns.
- Prepare quarterly estimated tax payments for federal and state.
- Perform necessary research to support understanding of related tax compliance and other technical tax issues.
- Sarbanes Oxley -- Ensure proper controls for tax provision compliance.
- Assist with reconciliation of liability and expense accounts.
- Collaborate with compliance and audit on various projects and processes.
- Various tax related developments.
- Assist in calculation of income tax accrual and associated entries.
- Assist in preparation of tax disclosures contained in the 10-Q and 10-K and call report.
- Assist in calculation of annual tax plan and forecast APB rate.
- Learn monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting process and Federal and State audit functions.
- Ensure tax regulation changes are tracked and communicated to the various Lines of Business.
- Work with Lines of Business on special projects assisting with the implementation of new tax regulations and operational processes to ensure compliance.
- Assist the administrator for the compliance and provision software CorpTax; learning the technical aspects of the compliance and provision functions.
- Assist in administering other software programs for the tax department.
- Assist with Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and Dodd Frank Annual Stress Testing (DFAST).
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Accounting
- 3 years of experience in Corporate Tax
- 2 years of experience in public and/or industry accounting
- 2 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office Word, Excel Power Point and Outlook, and Checkpoint or similar research application
8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday This position offers a hybrid work model that includes onsite and remote days as determined by the manager.
