We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing needs.
- Provide support with mobility, including lifting and transferring clients as necessary.
- Administer medication and assist with medical equipment as directed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health status, including any infectious disease care or behavioral health concerns.
- Assist with catheter care and other specialized personal care tasks.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients, including acute care and long-term care needs.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, applying knowledge of emergency medicine protocols.
Skills
- Proficiency in eClinicalWorks or similar medical documentation software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices.
- Experience in infectious disease care and behavioral health support is a plus.
- Ability to lift and assist clients safely while adhering to best practices for mobility support.
- Knowledge of catheter care procedures and acute care protocols is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
