Job Summary:
The Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel’s public areas, assisting with housekeeping duties, and ensuring that the hotel environment remains comfortable and welcoming for guests. The Houseman works closely with the housekeeping team to ensure that all areas of the hotel meet cleanliness and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and exterior spaces.
- Assist housekeeping staff in cleaning and preparing guest rooms when needed, including replenishing supplies and removing used linens.
- Ensure all common areas are well-stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., towels, toiletries, cleaning products).
- Set up and maintain guest amenities such as coffee stations, water stations, and other hotel services.
- Transport clean linen, towels, and amenities to guest floors and storage areas.
- Assist with the delivery of additional requests from guests, such as extra linens or items.
- Ensure the safe and efficient disposal of trash and recycling throughout the hotel.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and concerns.
- Assist with any special projects or tasks as directed by the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisors.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a housekeeping or janitorial role is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as linen and cleaning equipment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions:
- Physically demanding job requiring the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., busy hotel areas, changing weather for exterior maintenance).

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
