Summary : The team at Comfort Inn is currently staffed in all departments, however we are anticipating some needs that will be coming up in some areas, and a very successful 2025! Duties :
Depending on the department that are interested in working in the job duties will vary. All employees are required to do the following :
Offers guests assistance whenever possible and if unable to assist the guest, then let management know so they can take care of it.Responsible for positively representing and promoting the property.Ensures systems and procedures are in place and followed for guest and employee safety and security.Housekeeper Job Duties :
Assist with stripping of dirty linen from the guest rooms.Clean the entire room based on Choice and the hotels standards.Work safelyKeep work area neat and clean.Assist laundry workers in cleanliness of hotel and laundry room.Assist with changing and up-keeping of storage areas.All other duties assigned.Front Desk and Night Audit Agent Job Duties :
Maintains an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows cancellation procedures.Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms.Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and part-day rooms.Coordinates guest room maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance department.Knows daily activities taking place in the hotel.Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to their manager.Manages and resolves all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.Processes guest check-outs and handles monetary transactions.Maintains customers' privacy.Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.Communicates all pertinent information to other colleagues and department heads.Responsible for maintaining neat and orderly workspace.Performs other duties as assigned.Answer the telephone.Checks front office accounting records for accuracy and compiles information for the hotel's financial records.Prepares summary of cash, check and credit card activities, reflecting the hotel's financial performance for the day.Posts room charges and room taxes to guest accounts. Process guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers.Verifies all account postings and balances.Summarizes results of operations and prepares reports for management.The program Choice Advantage is very user friendly and simplifies the processing of all reports.Laundry Job Duties :
Assist with stripping of dirty linen from the guest rooms as needed.Sort linens for washer.Remove stains from badly soiled linen.Operate washers and dryers properly as well as ensuring that the correct cycles are used.Fold linens to hotel standards and keep stock organized in designated places.Wash quilts, top sheets, mattress sheets and shower curtains to hotel standards.Keep laundry area neat and clean.Assist housekeepers in cleanliness of hotel.Assist with changing and up-keeping of storage areas.All other duties assigned.Houseperson Job Duties :
Self-starter, able to work for long periods without direct supervisionAble to follow a routine daily, that is often repeated, without discouragement or boredomResponsible for the cleanliness of public restrooms, hallways, lobby area and rooms.Responsible for assisting housekeeper and performing laundry duties.Responsible for cleanliness of exterior trash cans, walkways, parking lot etc.Responsible for cleanliness of windows and doorsResponsible for cleanliness of floors, both tiled and carpetedCompletes assignments in a timely manner without constant supervision.Assists guests when required and maintains a positive customer service attitude.Breakfast Job Duties :
We offer a complimentary hot breakfast to all hotel guests in the early hours of the morning. This position requires the employee to make sure all buffet items are full at all times. You are required to prepare trays, condiments, serving platters and plates, cups etc. as needed. Breakfast is served in a designated area of the hotel. The Breakfast Attendant maintains the cleanliness of that area as well as interacting with hotel guests to ensure that if they have any questions, someone can answer them.
The position requires standing and walking, as well as a lot of lifting. The position requires someone who enjoys working with the public, serving the public requirements, and handling difficult guests if required. Tact is certainly an asset.
We would prefer experienced, but would consider someone with the right attitude.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous hotel-related experience preferred or equivalent customer service experience.Excellent interpersonal skills and a warm demeanor.Ability to communicate with public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.Able to properly secure guest information.Ability to learn safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekend, holidays, and overnight.When you apply, please indicate in your resume or by emailing at hammondgm@yahoo.com the position you would like to apply for and if you are looking for part or full time.
