Job Summary: The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with the operation maintenance service and repair of equipment as assigned. He/she is also responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program handling guest requests and other work orders as assigned. He/she is also responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs such as carpentry, painting, plumbing etc.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. High School diploma. One year’s experience in a related field preferred. Three years hands on experience in maintenance repair and troubleshooting.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include vinyl repair touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc. Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, and the swimming pool. Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
· Assists the Chief Engineer in major equipment repairs and maintenance to include but not limited to laundry & kitchen equipment, pumps, motors, air handlers, cooling towers, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, operating equipment (vacuums) etc.
· Handles unit calls to include but not limited to: (broken cabinetry, sofa frame, major appliance, mirrored sliders, etc.). Performs building exterior repairs and "shop projects" as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
· Assists with scheduling work assignments.
· Ensures the completion of the Engineering logs, and that all equipment is functioning properly.
· Keeps direct communication with General Manager in recommending minor and major repairs and performs any duties necessary in maintaining the property.
· Responsible for the completion of all engineering logs.
· Ensures all equipment is always functioning properly and that Preventive Maintenance measures are maintained to company standards.
· Assist in maintaining all inventory and Par Stock items.
· Assist in keeping up to date all work orders and projects.
PERFERED SKILLS AND ABILITY
· The understanding of HVAC mechanical and electrical systems.
· Good verbal and written skills.
· Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
· Pool Operators Certification or willingness to obtain.
· Good interaction and people skills.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
