Overview
The Onboarding Program Specialist is tasked with overseeing the orientation and training of new employees at Comfort of Home Healthcare, developing standardized training plans based on job descriptions for both locations, and managing ongoing training requirements for all staff.
Duties
- Coordinate Comfort of Home Healthcare (COHH) orientation for new employees and ensure their compliance with COHH policies.
- Set up Therap Accounts and assign caseloads to new DSPs and LDSPs in orientation.
- Facilitate all necessary training sessions for new hires.
- Obtain certification as an instructor for CPR/First Aid
- Conduct CPR and First Aid training for staff members.
- Assist with various HR functions including training and certifications.
- Implement a comprehensive 90-day onboarding program for all new staff members, which includes scheduling observations of training sessions, follow-up meetings with the Direct Support Professional (DSP), and assessments conducted by the supervisor.
- During this 90-day period, dedicate time and resources to support the development and success of new staff, demonstrating COHH's commitment to their professional growth.
- Coordinate any necessary additional training for direct care staff that may be struggling to fulfil job duties in accordance with company expectations and policies
- Coordinate and implement any CPR/First Aid, L1MA, Abuse & Neglect, PBS, etc. recertification sessions for currently employed staff
- Proficient in using office technologies like scheduling software and Microsoft Office.
- Available to provide caregiving and direct care services in a residential environment when training is not scheduled.
- Provide support to ensure individuals receive necessary 1:1 care when a DSP is unavailable to meet scheduled hours
- Perform any other assigned duties as necessary.

- Must demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
- Must be certified in CPR/FA and Level 1 Med Aid Certification
- Must be willing to possibly work a shift in a home as a caregiver/direct support professional.
- Valid Driver’s License and car insurance
- Must have extensive knowledge of the Missouri Department of Mental Health
- Knowledge of the positions available at the agency and an understanding of various learning styles and the ability to train according to those individual learning styles
- Must be willing to travel to St. Joseph and Kansas City
