Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual support and guidance to individuals in a hospice agency . The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a deep understanding of Christian counseling principles. This role involves mentoring individuals through challenging times, offering bereavement support, and facilitating crisis intervention when necessary.
Duties
- Provide spiritual care and counseling to patients, families, and staff in a compassionate manner.
- Offer bereavement support to those experiencing loss, helping them navigate their grief journey.
- Educate individuals on spiritual matters and provide resources for personal growth.
- Conduct crisis intervention sessions to assist individuals facing emotional or spiritual crises.
- Mentor staff and volunteers in providing holistic care that addresses both physical and spiritual needs.
- Lead prayer services, worship sessions, or other spiritual gatherings as appropriate.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care that includes spiritual considerations.
- Engage in conflict management strategies to resolve interpersonal issues within the community or organization.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospice care or similar settings is highly desirable.
- Background in Christian counseling with a focus on providing empathetic support.
- Demonstrated ability in crisis management and intervention techniques.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with diverse populations.
- Experience in mentoring individuals or groups is a plus.
