Summary:
A HVAC Service Technician is responsible for setting up, repairing, diagnosis, trouble shooting and the maintenance of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for an organization or its customers. The company provides opportunities for continual training and gaining additional experience in the industry.
Qualifications/Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for servicing and repairing all types of HVAC equipment
- Responsible for reading blueprints in order to diagnosis, troubleshoot, analyze and locate the malfunction on the HVAC Unit
- Be able to replace the defective or worn parts and then make any necessary adjustments
- Provide suggestions for increased energy efficiency and setting controls to determine that a system is working properly
- Install and / or assist in the installation of HVAC equipment when needed
- Responsible for meeting the customers needs and providing excellent positive customer service
- Responsible for meeting quarterly goals
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum (2) years of service experience in the HVAC industry
- CFC/EPA Certificate required
- NATE Certified is preferred but not required
- Good driving record, with no more than 2 points on your license
- Good communication skills used for both the customer and co-workers
- Self-motivated and be able to work under minimal supervision
- Willing to cross train themselves and others
- Take On-Call rotation
Working Conditions:
Driving a company vehicle. This job operates in the field and you will be entering in the customers homes and or place of business. Working in hot attics or cold places, must always provide an excellent and positive attitude toward the customer. While performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions due to weather.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, pull, kneel, crouch or crawl. May need to be in restrictive spaces such as an attic or a crawl space. May need to climb a latter to access the HVAC equipment on the roof. The employee must occasionally pull, lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Responsible for the removal and/or installation of HVAC systems (including some duct work)
- Responsible for the startup equipment and troubleshoot as needed
- Organized and detailed oriented to be able to effectively plan the job, navigate and overcome obstacles, and lead the crew
- Responsible for being the lead team member on the jobsite with an Installation Assistant
- Required to produce premium quality work in a safe and timely fashion
- Must be able to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional courteous manner
- Assisting with customers queries
- Be respectful to both the customer and fellow co-workers
- Providing technical direction and on-the-job training
- Complying with service standards and company procedures
- 2 years minimum experience in the HVAC industry
- Proven communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated
- Cross train into other areas of HVAC
- Continual learning to further skills and gain certifications in the HVAC field
- Flexible with work hours to accommodate the customers needs
- Valid Drivers License
- Have or obtain DOT card
