Shipping Team Lead - 1st Shift

Description

The Shipping Lead oversees the shipping department’s operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all outbound shipments. This role requires leading a team, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The Shipping Lead will work closely with other functional areas such as inventory control, procurement, and customer service to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. The Shipping Lead will be expected to develop and display knowledge, skills, and ability to teach and coach others as well as perform variety of tasks, flex to work needs, drive safely,   maintain ongoing positive and collaborative work behaviors, and reliably work all scheduled hours.

POSITION DETAILS

• Shift Times: 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday - Friday
• Pay Schedule: Weekly

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Demonstrates the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks and interactions with others. 
• Lead the shipping team, ensuring daily tasks are completed efficiently and according to company standards.
• Oversee the preparation and packaging of products for shipment, ensuring items are properly labeled and documented.
• Coordinate with the warehouse and inventory teams to ensure accurate stock levels and shipments.
• Assist with performance evaluations, training/coaching, tracking attendance, and administering company policies.
• Develop and implement shipping schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during shipping activities.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use 5’s principles
• Review orders and shipment instructions for accuracy, resolving any discrepancies as needed.
• Maintain shipping records and provide accurate documentation for audits or customer inquiries.
• Train new shipping team members and provide ongoing guidance and development opportunities for the team.
• Assist with the resolution of shipping-related issues or complaints.
• Perform quality checks to ensure shipments meet standards before they leave the facility.
• Encourage a fun, creative, and positive work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience in shipping or logistics.
• Forklift experience and certification preferred
• Able to operate a handheld scanner
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a team.
• Proficient in inventory management and warehouse systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Knowledge of shipping regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to use basic office software (e.g.,MS Office) and shipping management software.
• Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds.
• Standing or walking for extended periods during the workday.
