Job Title: Housekeeping Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to lead the housekeeping department at our property. This role is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for both guests and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a hands-on leadership style, and the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, hire, and train housekeeping staff to meet the property’s operational standards.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance evaluations to maintain high-quality service.
- Daily Operations:
- Prepare and distribute daily housekeeping room assignments to ensure timely and thorough room cleaning.
- Oversee and manage the hotel’s public attendant, ensuring public areas are consistently clean, well-maintained, and safe for guests and staff.
- Room Inspections and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular and thorough inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to brand and safety standards.
- Address and resolve any deficiencies promptly to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Deep Cleaning Schedule:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive deep cleaning schedule for guest rooms and public areas, ensuring all spaces are periodically refreshed and maintained to a high standard.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of linen, terry, cleaning supplies, and guest room amenities.
- Order supplies as needed, ensuring cost control and proper stock levels.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Train staff on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory or management role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer skills for managing schedules, inventory, and reports.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Compensation:
Starting wage of $15.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience. Additional benefits may be discussed during the hiring process.
