What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Associate position at Comfort Suites?
The Comfort Suites on Chincoteague Island is currently looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team. Applicants must be available for all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. A front desk agent represents the first point of contact with guests and handles all stages of a guests stay. A typical day as a hotel front desk agent, involves registering/booking guests, while accommodating any special requests and giving recommendations of things to do. Answering the phones and making new reservations. During check-in, a front desk agent will verify the guest’s method of payment and ensure all details of the guest’s registration are accurate.
- Checking guests in and out; assigning rooms; making every effort to accommodate requests
- Understanding and adhering to credit card, cash handling and safety procedures
- Understanding room types as well as off property cottages, condos and apartments and their locations, amenities, rates and how to use all equipment
- Ability to answer questions about the area to help enhance the guests stay
- Handling guests concerns and complaints in a positive, courteous and efficient manner; help in being proactive to reduce complaints; following maintenance procedures
- Use the "Signature Training" formula when handling reservations; understand our rate structure and use proper phone etiquette at all times
- Communicates and coordinates with the housekeeping team in regards to requests, room changes, late check outs, etc
- Works as a TEAM, always
- Always greet guests with a smile; immediately stop all personal conversations, projects or other business that is unrelated to the guests upon arrival
