Position Summary
The CO2 Refrigeration Technician performs field service related to commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. The position focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems, emphasizing eco-friendly, synthetic, and sustainable refrigerants.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair and perform evaluations and preventative and predictive maintenance on refrigeration systems
- Complete work order tasks and ensure all performed work is logged into the computerized maintenance management system daily
- Maintain reporting of inspections, evaluations, and preventive maintenance procedures and communicate all pertinent information regarding equipment operation and maintenance
- Commercial HVAC and refrigeration service primarily in supermarkets and grocery stores
- Diagnose, repair, troubleshoot, install, and service of HVAC and refrigeration equipment and systems including but not limited to walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in coolers, reach-in freezers, self-contained cases, coffin cases, deli cases, meat cases, produce cases, and single condensing units, RTU's, tandem units, compressors, small compressor racks, large compressor rack systems, CO2 direct expansion racks, glycol racks, chillers, and large-scale humidification units
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks within an allotted time frame
- Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5 years of related experience in Commercial/Industrial refrigeration, including troubleshooting service and startup of refrigeration systems.
- Strong diagnostics and technical capability, including electrical, mechanical, and optical refrigeration systems knowledge.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in data analysis, using data to drive decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to comprehend mechanical and electrical blueprints.
- Results-driven and adaptable to change.
- Passionate about continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and innovations.
- Ability to be on an on-call rotation.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass full background screening and drug screening
- Ability to pass MVR check
- Ability to travel, as needed, for projects or training
