Job Summary:
CT Mechanical is seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Pipefitting Foreman to lead our team of pipefitters in the installation, assembly, and maintenance of refrigeration piping systems. In this leadership role, you will oversee projects, ensure safety compliance, and provide technical expertise to deliver top-tier solutions. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate pipefitting crews on job sites to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
- Inspect work sites and review blueprints to plan efficient installations or repairs, avoiding obstructions and minimizing interference with other activities.
- Lead the installation, assembly, and maintenance of refrigeration piping systems, including metal and non-metal pipes such as copper, steel, and plastic.
- Ensure proper pipe connections using threading, caulking, soldering, brazing, fusing, or cementing joints.
- Conduct quality control checks, including hydraulic pressure testing and system performance verification, ensuring compliance with company and client standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including OSHA requirements, and enforce lockout/tagout procedures.
- Train and mentor team members in pipefitting techniques, safety practices, and equipment use.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members to address challenges and provide updates.
- Coordinate procurement and inventory of materials and tools needed for each project.
- Perform hands-on tasks as needed to support the team and ensure project milestones are met.
- Document project progress, maintain records, and submit reports as required.
Role Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; trade school or technical certification preferred.
- 6 years of refrigeration pipefitting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with copper brazing and soldering.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in using pipefitting tools and machinery.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred (OSHA 10 required).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to gain access to state and federal institutions.
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
