Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Child and Youth Development Specialist. As a key member of the Commander, Navy Installations team, you will play a vital role in the development and implementation of programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children and youth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement schedules and activity plans that cater to the diverse needs of children and youth
- Incorporate special instructions provided by parents into program plans and activities
- Care for children and youth with special needs under the guidance of a supervisor
- Promote and model safety, fitness, health, and nutrition practices
- Assist in achieving and maintaining DoD certification and national accreditation
Requirements:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to complete all Department of the Navy training requirements within the specified timeframe
- Intermediate Level: Knowledge of basic child and youth development principles and six months of experience working with children or youth in a child and youth setting
