Essential Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall management and operation of housekeeping/laundry department including budget control, staffing, cleaning, sanitation, equipment maintenance and operation
- Ensures the nursing facility is clean and in sanitary condition in order to provide for the welfare and care of the residents in a healthful environment.
Qualifications
- Prior work experience in environmental services is preferred
- Ability to lead a team, including hiring and training staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Provide patience and compassion when working with residents and family members.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members and team members.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Staying current on the individual procedures and protocols for their facilities, including state-specified rules and regulations.
- A desire and commitment to working with the elderly.
- Has not been excluded from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
