Who we are and what we do:

The Regulatory Board Division is responsible for licensing and regulating more than 320,000 professionals in Tennessee. We provide service through the initial licensure and renewal process and work directly in the field to conduct inspections and investigations, ensuring support and safety for our licensees and the public.

How you make a difference in this role:

The Executive Director of the Investigations and Field Enforcements team works with Department leadership and the other teams to determine their vision for professions regulated through the Division. The Executive Director has the opportunity to identify process improvements and effect meaningful change.

Job Overview:

• Administering annual inspections within the timeframe designated by Division leadership for the Motor Vehicle Commission, Cosmetology and Barber Board, Scrap Metal Program, Athletic Commission events, and other programs assigned.
• Monitoring submissions of inspection reports and issuances of Notice of Violations as needed in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure set forth by the Division.
• Establishing inspection goals and ensuring that special assignment inspections are completed in accordance with the identified requirements.
• Managing and supervising the daily operations and staff of Field Enforcement and Investigations team.
• Working with the Administration Section to support annual Customer Focused Government goals and Division goals in the Department's strategic plan.
• Monitoring staff performance and providing timely feedback concerning performance of assigned job duties.
• Conferring with the legal counsel, Centralized Complaints program, and Division leadership to ensure timely processing of complaints requiring investigation in accordance with the complaint handling Standard of Operations
• Administering enforcement activities, including investigations, complaints, and hearings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and five years of progressively responsible administrative, regulatory, or field enforcement and investigations experience is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and team building skills, and ability to balance multiple priorities is essential for success in the role. Previous management experience is strongly preferred.
