Primary Job Functions
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the housekeeping staff, providing open communication, training, coaching and counseling and providing performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Oversee and inspect the cleaning of the guest rooms, turndown service, public areas and back of the house; ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Issue assignments to staff reviewing special requests and areas of concentration to ensure a smooth flow of the housekeeping operation.
- Issue supplies/goods to staff at the beginning of shift to control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while controlling expenses.
- Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquiries to maintain controls and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Implement emergency training and procedures to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel, guests, staff and company assets.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
- Always extends professionalism and courtesy to guests.
- Motivates and encourages staff to solve guest and employee related concerns.
- Provides excellent customer service by being readily available/approachable for all guests.
- Takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns.
- Assists employees in understanding guests ever-changing needs and expectations, and how to exceed them
Qualifications
Licenses:
- A casino work permit from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
- The Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the hotel department processes. Regarding the supervision of employees, however, this position is limited to making suggestions or recommendations regarding the staff to the Director of Hotel Operations, who holds a Key Employee License. The Director of Hotel Operations is the position that makes managerial decisions on behalf of the hotel department. The Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor understands and acknowledges he/she cannot take any action that would require a Key Employee license.
- Must have the ability to communicate in English.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and manner.
- Can communicate well with guests.
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move material weighing up to 100lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach and move continuously to inspect rooms on all floors of the hotel.
- Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop, and reach to assist other staff members, i.e., room attendants, housekeepers, and inspectors to complete their individual tasks if situations demand.
