JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Field Engineer

LOCATION: Lake Orion, Michigan

OBJECTIVE

The focus of the Field Engineer role will center on site work and survey. Successful candidates will be technically minded with a structural engineering background and able to work with the installation team to resolve issues. Familiarity with industrial type work including miscellaneous structural and building steel design is required. Experience with structural modeling software and 3D Scanning is preferred. Applicants must be willing to learn Tekla modeling software for design and steel fabrication upon hire. Travel will be required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Travel to various job sites for field engineering / survey type work
• Integrate new process equipment with existing facility
• Understand scope and purpose of structural / miscellaneous steel projects
• Participate with design review meetings for approval documents and change control
• Work hours as determined by Design Center Manager- typically 45 hours/week, weekend work if needed
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Design Center Manager

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Bachelors Degree (Structural/Civil – preferred)
• 4 years field experience
• Proficient with AutoCAD design software (additional programs are a bonus)
• Ability to generate clear, concise, and organized field notes
