JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: RECEPTIONIST
LOCATION: Auburn Hills, MI
OBJECTIVE
The receptionist will work closely with the Executive Assistant and will be responsible for greeting guests and managing incoming communications for our headquarters. This may include answering phones/email, taking and distributing messages, and assisting with events and other projects as needed.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure the highest quality of service is available to our guests and colleagues
- Greet guests, determine nature of business, provide information and/or connect with the appropriate person
- Answer phones and provide information to callers or routes calls to appropriate colleague
- Take and distribute accurate messages from guests
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail
- Maintain and update office databases, reports, or any other tracking systems
- Monitor and maintain necessary inventory of office supplies
- Ensure all office equipment is properly serviced and maintained in working order
- Ensure that front desk, front and rear vestibule, Board Room conference room, and lobby area are always clean and fully stocked as appropriate
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Partner with Safety to carry out any emergency procedures both drill and real
- Follow emergency procedures and make proper notifications of any emergency situations
- Note areas or articles in need of repair and report to Executive Assistant
- Serve as a back-up to other service functions at the facility as needed
- Other duties as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Visible, public area (main lobby of corporate headquarters).
- Fast-paced, busy, and occasionally noisy work environment.
- May involve managing or assisting with multiple projects simultaneously.
- Frequent interruptions to address team members’ needs and vendor requests.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting at reception desk, answering phone calls and greeting visitors, providing refreshments as needed.
- Walking around 2-story building delivering mail, assisting colleagues, maintaining shared work spaces.
- Standing, reaching, occasional lifting of light items.
- Effective and professional communication with supervisors, employees, and others, both individually and in a team setting, is essential.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, including building and company policies, is required to perform work safely and effectively.
