Grinder / Machine Operator

We are filling several Grinder Machine Operator positions for a well-known Wire & Spring facility located in McKees Rocks. This Grinder Machine Operator role has a starting pay rate of $16 - $22 / hr.

Grinder Machine Operator Schedule:

• Monday – Friday 8a – 4:30p

Grinder Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Setup and operate mechanical and spring & wire forming machines.
• Perform troubleshooting on machinery and execute changeovers.
• Set up and operate a basic range of compression, extension, and torsion springs.
• Read blueprints and fill out SPC (Statistical Process Control) reports.
• Load springs into the machine accurately and efficiently.
• Adjust the machine to the correct height settings according to specific product requirements.
• Operate the machine to grind down springs using a grindstone, ensuring they are flattened and any imperfections are removed.
• Monitor the grinding process to maintain consistent quality and identify any potential issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct quality checks on finished springs to verify they meet company standards.

Grinder Machine Operator Qualifications:

• Experience in the manufacturing industry and plant/factory working environment.
• Ability to operate basic manufacturing machinery and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
