What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Maintenance Planner position at Commercial Jet, Inc?
Reporting to the Manager, Production Control & Planning, the Maintenance Package Planner ensures that all aircraft maintenance packages are complete so as to enable the Production Control Supervisor to lay-out the job boards efficiently and allow for effective and timely maintenance execution and aircraft re-delivery.
This job requires extensive research of OEM maintenance documentation mostly held online and in work packages. Ensure that all the necessary Task Cards are included in order to undertake the job in accordance with the Workscope.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verifies Work Package against Workscope, Tally, Pre-draw lists, Task Cards provided by Customer; communicates with Customer any discrepancies; researches Service Bulletin and ADs required; completes data and enters into company’s information system.
- Research MPDs and other OEM/FAA requirements for relevant Task Cards and their inclusion based on Workscope.
- Support The Production Control Supervisor managing Task Card definitions and Opening Work Orders.
- Support Production Supervisor in Work Package Acceptance reproduction of all required maintenance package documentation. Sets up production booth working boards by zones and skills for each aircraft as required.
- Analyzes aircraft requirements for applicable aircraft in order to ensure concurrent maintenance requirements can be planned, material requirements are identified, tooling is available and scheduled.
- Coordinate with IPC to ensure timely arrival and location of parts required to accomplish time limited maintenance.
- Communicate and work closely with Production Control Manager.
- Conducts periodic audits of the technical documents for the respective tasks as the project progresses.
- Maintain a highly organized work environment.

- Support the Manager, Production Planning & Control with other business activities as needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED or OJT. Preferably has a degree in Aviation Management and/or has Held a mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant for commercial aircraft.
EXPERIENCE: Has had recent production planning experience for at least 3 years. Has had diversified maintenance experience on large aircraft with an Air Carrier, Commercial Operator or Certified Repair Station.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Extensive familiarity with MPDs, technical procedural and schematic OEM maintenance documentation.
Proficient Computer user with working knowledge of online research and usage of OEM portals.
Good written and oral communication skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of staff from different departments effectively.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a good understanding of where to find relevant information.
