Essential duties and responsibilities of the Automation Technician can include, but are not limited to tending one or more automated press/assembly lines, special purpose machines, or industrial robots to mold workpieces to specifications on production basis by performing the following duties:
- Starts machine, engages feed, and observes operation.
- Inspects and measures machines product to verify conformance to specifications.
- Moves machine controls and guides to adjust machine.
- Replaces worn machine accessories such as controls or switches.
- Cleans press, molds and parts.
- Tends support equipment other than molding press and mold.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment following safety procedures and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assists in directing the Automation and Assembly Operators. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing product complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

- 1-3 years related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form.
