JOB SUMMARY:
Set up machine and mold installation following the production schedule for efficiency. Assist in training for new employees and in the upkeep of good housekeeping and safety practices. Be able to accurately record job documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install molds (using a variety of tools, including hoists and forklifts)
- Follows set-up sheet and diagrams to properly attach/remove water lines and safety equipment
- Verify assigned area is prepared with supplies; including but not limited to, material, pallets/skids, auxiliary equipment, packaging material, or additional tools needed to complete start ups
- Start machine, engage feed, and observe operation
- Approve start up and first piece approval, monitor quality of production throughout the shift
- Troubleshoot using machine controls and guides to adjust machine to meet product specifications
- General preventative maintenance as needed, including greasing of molds
- Accurately complete job-related documentation and usage of inventory system (IQMS)
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment following safety procedures and policies
- Must perform Lock Out/ Tag Out (LO/TO) procedures as required
- Report any out-of-spec conditions with mold or machinery immediately to Shift Supervisor
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated basic knowledge/skill in following areas: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, process water systems
- Working knowledge of computer software programs (Excel, Word), OSHA regulations and standards, ISO 9001 standards
- Troubleshooting skills, basic understanding of processing skills, and basic math skills
- Ability to qualify and maintain for forklift certification if needed
- HS degree (post high school course work, or trade school preferred) or/and 2 years relevant experience
- Must have tools to perform the given task to set up all molding equipment, tools or machines
- Must have the ability read, write and speak English
- Plastic injection molding experience is preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
- Ability to stand/walk throughout the day
- Multitask oriented and ability to work with teams or to be self-governed
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- There may be exposure to noise, dust and fumes in the production areas
- Work in climate controlled manufacturing facility
