SUMMARY
Direct and manage activities of production departments in manufacturing products by performing the following duties personally or through delegation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES can include, but are not limited to:
- Supervision of Direct Labor hourly manufacturing employees
- Allocate labor resources for the responsible shift according to predefined production priorities.
- Oversee job skills training of employees to ensure safe operation of equipment and ensure quality standards are met for production tasks.
- Insure employee job rotation plan and schedule as defined and directed by the Plant Manager and other delegate employees.
- Maintain an orderly and disciplined work environment for Direct Labor hourly manufacturing employees.
- Ensure production work orders are completed in a timely manner
- Coordinate allocation of labor resources with Technicians, Material Handlers and other operations employees, to efficiently assign employees to work tasks with a minimum of waste.
- Report production jobs into IQMS and other systems as directly by Plant Manager.
- Coordinate material needs with the supply warehouse.
- Support quality standards
- Coordinate timely inspection of production goods with Quality Inspectors.
- Ensure training of employees is adequate to support the tasks to which they are assigned.
- Support a safe work environment
- Never allow an unsafe activity to continue either by direct action or inaction.
- Actively communicate safety policies, training opportunities, hazard information, and best practices to all employees.
- Maintain the established company policies regarding safety and disciplinary actions.
- Employee Discipline
- As necessary, and according to training, exert disciplinary actions and authority over subordinate employees.
- When needed, communicate with senior managers regarding appropriate response and proportional discipline to employee infractions or conflict.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPEREINCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with production processes and active jobs sufficient to allow employee supervision and oversight.
- Familiarity with quality standards for active production jobs sufficient to allow educated judgements regarding conformance to standard.
- Ability to gain working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, IQMS, and electronic time collection programs.
- Ability and experience to gain working knowledge of IQMS program to perform the following functions: enter and edit production job produced quantity; look up production job quantity available to produce
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organization in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as LDR’s, production quantities.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to lead and motivate subordinate employees and to teach relevant skills.
