Controller

Location: South Sarasota/Venice, FL (100% On-Site)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Controller to serve as the right hand to our CFO. This key leadership role will oversee the financial operations of the company, manage a team of six, and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six accounting professionals.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with the CFO on strategic financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Oversee tax filings and regulatory compliance.
• Analyzes financial statements, ratios and variances.
• Preparation of monthly executive financial reporting package.

Qualifications:

• Must reside in South Sarasota or Venice, FL.
• 100% on-site role – remote/hybrid not available.
• 10 years accounting experience, with an emphasis on general accounting
• Experience managing an accounting team (at least 6 direct reports).
• Strong proficiency in NetSuite.
• CPA preferred.
• Private equity experience is a plus.
• Proven experience in a senior accounting/finance leadership role.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
