What are the responsibilities and job description for the Captain position at Commis?
The Captain/Sommelier role is an integral part of the FOH team at COMMIS.
We are looking for a professional, hospitality-focused person with 2-3 years of experience as a fine-dining server with sommelier experience. Preference will be given to candidates with previous FOH experience in a Michelin-starred restaurant. A successful candidate will possess a solid base knowledge of wine and a desire to continue their wine education.
Responsibilities include dining setup before service ( sweeping, folding napkins, polishing wares and furniture pieces, etc. ) and breakdown after service closing duties (sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, oiling table tops, restocking and all necessary preparation for the following day). Weekly deep cleaning is part of this position. 4-5 shifts per week.
Qualities of what we are looking for in the candidate:
- Captained at Michelin Star property for 2 years or more
- wine & beverage knowledge, sommelier court certification is a bonus
- High level of professionalism
- Sense of urgency, able to meet deadlines

Employment Benefits:
