Overview
CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Mid Web Developer to join the team in Charleston, SC-*can also be remote! The web developer position will be responsible for the development of web applications. Development will include building customized UI (e.g. surveys, forms, dashboards, charts, and graphs) and connecting UI to back-end services via RESTful APIs. Developers will follow Agile software methodologies and collaborate well within a team environment.
Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.
Responsibilities
Your essential job functions, skills and knowledge will include but may not be limited to-
- Design, build, test, and deploy applications for web-based platforms
- Create application specifications, diagrams, flow charts and other documentation to support the design and development if needed.
- Build out shared libraries for common features/services
- Collaboration in a team environment to define, design, and deploy new features
- Debug and fix application bugs
- Maintain high standard of code quality and coverage.
- Use of SonarQube and Fortify software to inspect code
- Continuous unit and integration testing to achieve a minimum of 90% code coverage
- Daily Stand Ups (DSUs) – 15 minute team meetings to give daily updates
- Meet deadlines for completed tasks and software releases
- Show demo of work to customers
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented principles
- Agile software development methodology
- Agile software development tools (Jira, Bitbucket)
- Source code version control (Git, Subversion, CVS)
- Understanding design principles and adhering to standard user interface guidelines
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect to back-end services
- Good sense of UI design, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards
- Experience with Unit and Integration Testing
- Knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML
- Experience with React.js, Angular, Node.js
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) software experience like Validic is a plus
Qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer-related field
- Mid-level developer: 5 years minimum of professional software engineering experience with at least 3 years in web development
Security Requirements:
- Active Public Trust Clearance, or Ability to Obtain
