What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Manager position at Common Bond Hotels?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Event Manager oversees and coordinates all events hosted with Common Bond Hotels. The Event Manager will also be responsible for covering occasional management shifts for the restaurants. The Event Manager will be primarily charged with planning, executing, and managing a variety of events, including weddings, corporate meetings, social gatherings, and other special occasions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
Plan, organize, and execute all aspects of events held at the property, ensuring smooth and successful operations.
Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements and provide expert guidance and recommendations.
Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., catering, housekeeping, facilities) to ensure all event logistics are in place and executed flawlessly.
Source and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best services and pricing for events.
Manage event budgets and financial aspects, ensuring profitability and cost control.
Oversee event setup, including room layouts, decor, audiovisual equipment, and signage, to create an inviting and visually appealing atmosphere.
Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to client inquiries, requests, and concerns throughout the event planning process.
Supervise event staff and coordinate their duties, ensuring smooth event operations.
Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements for future events.
Stay up to date with industry trends, market competition, and emerging event management practices.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Proven experience as an Event Manager, preferably in a boutique hotel or high-end hospitality environment.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite.
Knowledge of local regulations and permits related to events.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
