The ideal Recovery Coach in the Sober Support Unit thrives in a team environment and does well working independently, while applying critical thinking and decision-making skills. You have a passion for helping others break down barriers that get in their way, are emphatic, and you don’t pass judgment. You are also able to work in a multidisciplinary environment and manage evolving needs.

Day In the Life
- Contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere
- Communicate hope and the possibility of recovery and healing through group sessions
- Link those we serve to appropriate aftercare services and community resources
- Assist those we serve with gaining coping skills and recovery tools
- Provide recovery coaching to people that result in diverting them from in-patient hospitalization
- Provide accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record
- Actively engage with your team, other departments, individuals served, everyday
What You Need to Apply
- Be eligible to complete the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) certification upon hire
- Successfully complete the CCAR certification within one year of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and clean driving record
- Minimum 1-year experience working with people with substance abuse disorders, disabilities, preferred
