About the Position: CommonHealth Recovery is seeking a diligent and responsible Medical Receptionist/Office Assistant to oversee the daily operations of our medical facility and fill-in as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office management, patient scheduling, front-desk operations, and possess excellent phone skills.
Work Environment: Our multi-disciplinary treatment team, comprising counselors, medical providers, case managers, and administrators, collaborates to enhance client well-being. The work environment balances fast-paced and slower-paced tasks, ensuring a stimulating and engaging atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides receptionist services and general office duties such as scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, scanning documents, and checking voicemail/fax.
- Listens attentively to our customers to fully understand their needs.
- Utilizes CRM and EMR systems, registers patients according to standard procedures.
- Knowledgeable about program and services.
- Protects client confidentiality.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Directing patient flow within the office.
- Call in patient medication as directed.
- Input/update health records and attendance logs.
- Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
- May be responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
- Provide education and resource information regarding medication.
- Scans and files administrative and medical information in patient’s medical record.
- Makes appointment reminder calls to patients with upcoming appointments.
- Participates in staff and educational meetings.
- Coordinates meeting room schedules.
- Relieves the management of minor administrative details.
- Serve as location on-call staff member in conjunction with the location administrator.
- Maintains office equipment (fax, copier, etc.).
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort to assure excellent patient care and service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree desirable; however, applicants may demonstrate requisite skills through experience.
- Candidate must have solid verbal, written organizational, and communication skills.
- Candidate must have proven track record of reliability and punctuality pertaining to attendance.
- Candidate must have computer knowledge and the ability to organize data.
- Ability to work with persons in a manner that shows sensitivity to cultural diversity, sexual orientation, and racial/ethnic differences.
- If in recovery, must have maintained a minimum continuous sobriety of one year and work an active recovery program.
