About The Role
The Surgery Center Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the surgery center by ensuring seamless administrative processes. This position is responsible for managing front desk activities, patient scheduling, and insurance verifications while maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation. Acting as a key point of contact for patients, staff, and physicians, the Administrative Assistant fosters a professional and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to providing exceptional administrative support to enhance overall operational efficiency.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the first point of contact by managing front desk duties, including triaging calls, greeting, and checking in patients.
- Conduct patient interviews and complete encounter registrations, ensuring accuracy in financial and demographic information collection.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, maintaining an efficient workflow for the surgery center.
- Verify insurance benefits, accurately recording details for financial review and re-verifying benefits or authorizations as needed.
- Maintain training and compliance records in systems like MedTrainer, distributing and tracking required checklists to ensure timely completion.
- Manage and maintain organizational documents, forms, and records, ensuring timely updates and compliance with requirements (e.g., flu and COVID vaccine documentation).
- Perform other duties as assigned to support surgery center operations and organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or surgical center environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and patient registration systems.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to handle changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a desk for extended periods.
- May occasionally be required to lift or move items up to 25 pounds.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
