Virginia Mason Medical Center Cardiothoracic Surgery is a 3 surgeon practice looking for an Advanced Practitioner to join our team of 4 PA's.  

Daily responsibilities include first assisting adult cardiac surgery, including Endoscopic Vein Harvesting, and managing patients in the hospital, both critical care and telemetry units. The majority of time is spent in the OR and hospital. Bedside procedures based on interest and experience. Occasional clinic responsibilities may be involved. 

Call responsibilities:

Weekends- every 4th weekend for inpatient rounds, and on-call for OR and inpatient calls (NOT in-house)

Weeknights- 1 night/week, NOT in-house, on-call for OR and inpatient calls 

Qualifications

1 years experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery is preferred. This includes experience with Endoscopic Vein Harvesting and Cardiothoracic Surgery Critical Care.

ARNP

• Washington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job.
• Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority. 
• Advanced background in nursing; an understanding of anatomy, physiology, histology, and pharmacology; and strong interpersonal and counseling skills.
• Certification by specialty area as well as work experience in specialty area may be required, depending on the position.
• ACLS required
• BLS required

OR

Physician Assistant-C

• This position requires Certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington.
• ACLS required
• BLS required
