Responsibilities
Through the use of accepted techniques and practices provides high quality general diagnostic echocardiogram studies; performs echocardiogram exams to include general echo with the ability to learn TEE Pediatric Echo Stress Echo (including Dobutamine) Contrast echoes aides Cardiologist with Echo guided Pericardiocentisis and any other studies that fall under the spectrum of general echo exams. Communicates effectively with ancillary areas and internal staff. Able to evaluate coordinates and executes responsibilities under pressure situations. Has the initiative to resolve customer problems by self and involves supervisors as necessary. Provides professional and quality care to patients from neonates to geriatrics while following hospital and departmental policies procedures and standards. Provides and documents technical findings and preliminary observations within the scope of practice as set by department policies. Ability to take night and weekend call for a minimum basis. To assist in the training of echo technologists or students in the advancement of research and or general echocardiography.
Qualifications
- Must be RDCS registered from ARDMS.
- Must have a minimum of basic understanding of general echocardiography.
- BLS certificate (American Heart)
