*Responsibilities*
Coordinates, supervises and implements patient care based on competence, professional expertise, knowledge and evidence-based practice. Practice autonomously, consistent with professional standards, Nurse Practice Act and hospital job description.
- Assess patients according to SJHMC standards of care and individual patient needs.
- Monitors vital signs, lab values and diagnostic tests and reports/acts on abnormal results.
- Administers prescribed medications and intravenous solutions according to standards of care and hospital protocols.
- Documents clinically relevant assessments, findings, and histories in the patient's record according to hospital protocols.
- Processes all new hires and coordinates the reporting of results.
- Coordinates and performs drug screening and other mandatory testing. Ensures all testing is done as specified by job description and regulatory agencies.
- Performs fit-testing and per OSHA protocols.
