This position provides a clean, hygienic, attractive, and orderly medical center for patients, visitors and staff.

• Removes trash; cleans and disinfects containers; relines containers; removes infectious waste as needed; and removes sharps containers.
• Cleans and disinfects bed frames and mattresses and remakes with new linens.
• Dusts and damp wipes all surfaces including furniture, blinds, window sills, ledges, light fixtures, mirrors, TVs, vents, curtain rods, etc.
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms, showers, tub rooms, sitz baths; sanitizes toilets and sinks; and cleans pipes under sinks.
• Cleans and disinfects all floors; dust mops and wet mops all hard floor surfaces; cleans corners and edges; and vacuums carpeted areas.
• Stocks supplies on a daily basis including paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and latex gloves.
• Performs duties as assigned and logs all completed discharged rooms into the communications book.
• Performs duties while demonstrating a working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements. Displays safe chemical use and equipment handling for all items within the healthcare environment.
• Follows all infection prevention practices, including but not limited to: proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Duties may vary depending on department needs.
