Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Reports to the Laboratory Management. Responsible for the technical and scientific oversight of the assigned specialty and for performing the complete scope of tests in the laboratory section to which assigned. Coordinates staff and testing to provide quality medical results for patient care decisions and to assure the optimal performance of such testing procedures in accordance with accreditation standards.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Five (5) years experience working in the capacity of a CLS
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical physical or biological science from an accredited institution.
- Current and ability to maintain California Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of medical terminology typing math and computer skills;
- Ability to demonstrate higher level of proficiency of clinical laboratory technologist skills
- Requires 2 years of training post baccalaureate
- Demonstrate record of continuing education in Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Technologist techniques and practices
Preferred:
- Additional 2 years working in a lead role.
- Degree majoring in Clinical Lab Science
- Actively participates in The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS)
